“If you’re the God who parted the waters, if you’re the God who makes the blind see…what can’t you do for me?”

- lyrics, “Up to Something” by Upperroom

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.” Matthew 6:28

So much has happened in the past three weeks since the last newsletter. We’ve planted our garden boxes, celebrated Fall with our first Fall Festival, escaped a simulated smoky room with the Van Buren Fire Department, learned about the spine from Dr. Beutelschies, taken field trips to see a play, the Janet Huckabee Nature Preserve, and Arts on Main, and so much more!

Another highlight was learning a new song by Upperroom called, “Up to Something” that reminded us that God is the God of ALL things - all circumstances - and that we live in communion with Him every day. Pastor Jessica continued our study of Psalm 23 and taught us about the PURPOSE of the rod and the staff. As the Good Shepherd, God uses these tools to correct and comfort us. He provides for us and rescues us when we stray. He is the God of all things and in Him we find perfect refuge!

Our very first Fall Festival was a HUGE hit! Thank you to Joanie Golden for organizing our many parent volunteers who donated time and items for the event, and thank you also to Ridgeline Church and Butterfield Church for donating games and inflatables! Thank you also to the Joshua Academy Board who made us lunch! What a great time celebrating our community and coming together as ONE BODY.
