Our student-driven science lessons teach kids how to think and ask good questions!
Fourth & Fifth graders drive their own science lessons and work together to discover how God makes the world work!
I absolutely love our science curriculum and so do our students! We use a unique approach through “Engaging Science Labs” developed by Carolyn Balch, that complements our Redemptive Education curriculum. Traditional science lessons spend so much time talking, reading, and writing about science without actually DOING much science. Our labs flip that…we spend a majority of our time engaged in experiments so that when we talk about science, we’re able to reference what we just did! This very hands-on, student-driven approach allows kids to problem solve and make their own connections. The wrap ups solidify science concepts where students are able to draw upon their experiences as evidence to support those concepts. It’s so good!
A main event on Friday, Nov. 8 was our Veteran’s Day Chapel where we honored 18 parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles of our students who have served in the armed forces. We are filled with gratitude for those who have sacrificed for the freedom we enjoy. The kids sang patriotic songs they had been working on in music class with Mrs. Glenda Fouts. Our Middle School students lead the reading of “America’s White Table” as each class added an implement to the white table to honor those Missing in Action and Prisoners of War who have not returned home. View our Veteran’s chapel video here!
