“I demonstrate initiative, perseverance, and design thinking.”

From “Our Commitments

This picture of Leon makes me smile so much. He was determined to get this Leon-sized branch from “here” to “there”!

We started our week with a field trip to Arts on Main, showed our love for each other on Wednesday, and finished up the week with our new weekly Physical Education class lead by Ms. Jade Villines, one of our substitutes and herself, an aspiring Middle School teacher!

Mrs. Brown, Mrs. McKenzie, and Dr. Witzke will head for Washington D.C. Sunday through Wednesday for a Professional Development conference with Amy Imbody and the Center for Redemptive Education! We’re excited to learn more about the beautiful educational model we use as we explore “The Mind of the Maker” next week. Mrs. Parker, Mrs. Dean, and Mrs. Holt will hold down the fort, along with two outstanding substitute teachers for Tuesday and Wednesday.

We’re HIRING!

If you haven’t already seen it, our hiring announcement went live on Monday! Please share this link with anyone you know who may be interested in joining the Joshua Academy team as an Elementary or Middle School teacher next year: https://joshua-academy.org/elementary-middle-teacher. Interviews start in a couple weeks.

We will be posting additional hiring announcements for support personnel in the next month or so.

Pray for our Donor Event

Our 2nd annual Fund the Future Donor Dinner event is approaching. On Tuesday, February 27th we will host an evening of entertainment including a “Morning Welcome” by some of our students, live and silent auctions, and a meal catered by Pasta Grill. Join us in prayer that it will be an evening of generosity as we cast our vision for our future! Last year we raised $68,000 at this event which helped cover the start-up costs to launch our school! Our goal is $100,000 this year to help us double the size of our student body next Fall as we expand into the church building for more space. If you know a potential donor who should be there who has not yet been invited, email me right away: kara@joshua-academy.org.

Moving forward, we will host a Joshua Academy family event every Fall as part of an Annual Giving campaign.
