We Build Each Other Up!

“We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.” Romans 15:2

Our 4th and 5th graders wrote lesson plans, and received teacher badges and lanyards so they could “officially” teach our Kindergarteners a phonics lesson!

Just one of the many things that makes Joshua Academy unique is our emphasis on character development; in fact, 2/3rds of our report card is based on it! We teach “the head, heart, and habits”, the WHOLE child, which means we must practice to master heart and habit work in addition to academics.

This week, our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students learned what it takes to be a teacher — being an excellent role model, a content expert, making lesson plans, practicing and being prepared, and communicating effectively to keep their younger “students” engaged!

5th graders Miss Stockett and Mr. Wheeler are ready to teach Kindergarten!

Was it harder than they thought it would be? Yes! Was it fun? Absolutely. They say, you don’t really, truly understand something until you teach it to someone else. We learned that was true this week!

Giving Season is here!
