“Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2

One of our 3rd graders asked if he could go pray for a 1st grader who was struggling. We are thankful for a school that teaches and encourages kids to share each others’ burdens!

We feel like we’re finally able to emerge from hibernation! January and most of February really cramped our style but this week was different and we felt it! The wagons and tarps came out and the ground is almost dried up. Sunglasses and sunhats even made an appearance. Thank you Jesus for warm sunshine!

Thank you for your prayers over the teachers as we spent almost 6 days in Washington D.C. for a Redemptive Education conference and staff retreat. While the weather kept us there two extra days, we made the most of it and logged more walking hours than most of us had done all year! We learned many new things about what it means to teach “redemptively” and also learned a lot about each other. We’re happy to be back in the swing of things.

What it means when our spirit and flesh are in a tug of war!

I wanted to highlight what our kids have been learning in morning Welcome and Chapel this year. Jessica Jernigan, our children’s pastor, has lead us through Psalm 23 and John 10, as we have taken a deep dive into our theme, “The Way of the Shepherd”. We have learned what it means to be provided for, protected, strengthened, guided along right paths, comforted, fed, blessed, and loved. We’ve talked about the battle between our spirit and our flesh, and how to distinguish the voice of the Lord from the voice of the enemy. This week we learned what our actual names mean and the characteristics we often associate with ourselves that are sometimes NOT in alignment with who God says we are. We are all REDEEMED! We are SOZO’ed: “saved, healed, made whole and delivered.” That is good news!

Whose voice are we listening to? How does what we’re hearing “match up” to the Word?

Thank you for your continued prayers as we now review applications and begin student interviews for next year. Pray for discernment that we would be lead to the families and kids that we are to serve. Our wait pool will be overflowing for Kindergarten (a potentially heartbreaking situation).
