Welcome to our New Teachers!

“…honor those who are your leaders in the Lord’s work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance.” I Thess 5:12

We have an exciting announcement…

FOUR new teachers will be joining us next year!

Jade Lovell, Jr. High History Teacher

Hello! My name is Jade Lovell. I graduated from UAFS in 2024 with a degree in history and minor in sociology. I will begin pursuing a Master of Arts in Teachjng this summer through U of A Monticello! I’ve been at Joshua Academy since we opened in 2023, as a family member, substitute teacher, and PE teacher. This year I have served full time as the Middle School Assistant Teacher and Athletic Director. You might also find me helping out with social media and special events!

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my one year old nephew Beckham, or being outdoors hunting or kayaking with my husband Cody. We’ve been married for two years this June, and have a Chesapeake bay/lab mix named River May!

What excites me most about teaching your children would be getting to help them discover who they are in Christ while learning to navigate this world outside of school. I am excited for the upcoming school year, and blessed to be in the presence of your children every day!

Charity Brake, First Grade Teacher

Hi JA family! I’m so excited to be joining your amazing school this year! I have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (K–4) and nine years of teaching experience, mostly in third grade English Language Arts, which I’ve loved.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family. I’m a mom of two, Eden (5) and Landon (1), so life is busy, fun, and full of sweet adventures. We love being outdoors with our dog, Chloe, watching the Razorbacks, and going to the park.

I’m especially grateful to be at a Christ-centered school like Joshua Academy, where students can grow in their faith and learn in a nature-rich environment. I’m excited to connect, collaborate, and get started!

Haley Mixon, Third Grade Teacher

I am super excited to be a part of the Joshua Academy family. This will be my 8th year of teaching 3rd grade. 3rd grade is the sweetest grade! I have an early childhood education license and I can’t wait to use my experience teaching while having Gods Word at the center of it all.

My husband and I have 3 young boys and we love to be outside playing and enjoying time with friends and family. Our favorite family activity is kayaking/floating!

What excites me the most about coming to JA is how we will use God’s word everyday, pray together, and enjoy His creation everyday!

Brittany Russell, Fifth Grade Teacher

My name is Brittany Russell. I am teaching 5th grade! Some words that describe me are kind, loving, and always willing to lend a hand. A fun fact about me is I am a science nerd and I love cheese dip. I have a Bachelors degree in Middle School Education from University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. The past two years I have taught 8th grade science. I love the impact I make on my students and I love getting to know their personalities!

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family and friends.I love reading a good book, crocheting, and building legos. I also love slow mornings, and reading my bible.

What excites me most about coming to JA is being able to grow students in the Lord and being a part of a spirit lead school. I’m really looking forward to getting to know my students and getting to plant seeds that grow for generations! I am so excited to get started!
